Shelli Huether Honor Run Inc

The Shelli Huether Veterans Day Honor Run was born out of grief of a friend. On September 8, 2020, my dear friend Lieutenant Colonel Shelli Huether, along with Captain Jessica Wright and Senior Master Sergeant Scott Bumpus, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash while serving with the Tennessee Air National Guard.

Shelli lived with a servant’s heart—volunteering countless hours with the USO, Operation Stand Down, and other nonprofits. She was also a passionate runner, constantly setting new goals, which is one of the reasons we became such good friends.

In her honor, I founded this event in 2020 to celebrate Shelli’s life, her love of running, and most importantly, to honor all military and veterans. Since then, we’ve grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for two incredible organizations:

* The National Guard Association of Tennessee – providing scholarships and emergency assistance for veterans and their families.
* Lantern Lane Farm Counseling Center – offering therapeutic services, including equine therapy, that change lives.
